Mrs. McKinney, 3rd Grade Teacher

Mrs. Smith-McKinney (a.k.a. Mrs. McKinney)  studied Interdisciplinary/ Early childhood education at Western Governors University, of Salt Lake City, UT.  She also obtained her Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from WGU.  She has steadily applied her knowledge and passion for the last 16 years in the field of education.  Her heart for our youth continues to show throughout each class she has represented and served.  Her enthusiasm for learning shows, especially in math and science. 
 
Mrs. McKinney advocates for parent and teacher relationships, and strives to create opportunities to build that.  She also, believes that students should feel valued.  Home and school relationships have proven to increase the academic success of scholars.
 
Mrs. McKinney also strives to promote a safe, nurturing and authentic learning experience.  She believes that it truly takes a village to create such experiences.  Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, reading, traveling and crocheting.
