2023 Georgia Milestones Assessment Details and Schoolwide Attendance Protocol

April 18, 2023

Greetings TMSA Parents and Guardians,

TMSA scholars in grades 3 – 8 will take the Georgia Milestones Assessment on varying days starting April 24, 2023 through May 11, 2023. Georgia Milestones measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Please note, during the Georgia Milestones, students are not permitted to use, or bring into the testing environment, any electronic device that could allow them to access, retain or transmit information (e.g., cell phone, smartphone, PDA, electronic recording device, camera, playback, device, etc.). In the event the cell phone, or any electronic device, is collected, TMSA cannot return the device to the student, parent or guardian unless directed by the Assessment Administration Office.

Georgia Milestones Questions and Answers

Schoolwide attendance is particularly important, not only during the Georgia Milestones Assessment period, but every day during the academic school year. As such, TMSA is taking the following attendance measures effective April 24, 2023 through May 26, 2023, the last day of the 2022 – 2023 school year:

  • All TMSA students must arrive at school no later than 7:45 a.m., the start of the instructional day (this is TMSA's standard arrival time)
  • Beginning April 24, 2023, the school’s back gate will close at 7:45 a.m.
  • School breakfast will promptly end at 7:45 a.m. and breakfast will not be served to students who arrive at school late (after 7:45 a.m.)
  • Students arriving to campus later than 7:45 a.m. must be signed in by their parents/guardians, who are required to park and enter the building for sign-in
  • Students with excessive tardiness and/or absences are subject to disciplinary action(s)

If you have any questions or concerns pertaining to the Georgia Milestones Assessment and/or the attendance measures, please contact Assistant Principal Avery (K – 4) or Assistant Principal Mitchell (5 – 8).

Thank you,

TMSA Administration
