Language Arts
Story Elements, Sentences, Journal Writing, Main Idea, Contractions, Beginning/Middle/End, Punctuation, Rhymes, Phonics, Phonemic Awareness, Spelling and Genre 

Social  Studies
The student will read about and describe the life of historical figures in American history (Harriet Tubman, Ruby Bridges, George Washington Carver, and Theodore Roosevelt).  Students will be able to describe how everyday life of these historical figures is similar to and different from everyday life in the present (for example: food, clothing, homes, transportation, communication, recreation, etc.) 

Describe how the historical figures in SS1H1a display positive character traits such as: fairness, respect for others, respect for the environment, courage, equality, tolerance, perseverance, and commitment. 

Identify goods that people make and services that people provide for each other. 

Describe how people are both producers and consumers 

Math
Measurement and Data Order three objects by length; compare the lengths of two objects indirectly by using a third object. Express the length of an object as a whole number of length units, by laying multiple copies of a shorter object (the length unit) end to end; understand the length measurement of an object. Learning how to tell time to the hour and half an hour.
