In Habit 5, TMSA students, teachers and staff are encouraged to EFFECTIVELY listen and understand FIRST then speak with a resolution.
Practice this effective communication strategy with your child at home. Make sure that the speaker is confident in their words and the listener is actively listening with the intent of understanding and considering the speaker's feelings BEFORE they respond.
Remember: The best way to teach someone how to listen is to practice with them.
