TMSA's Campus Opening Plan Effective October 25, 2021

Good Afternoon TMSA Parents, Guardians and Staff -

Foremost, thank you for your flexibility this week. I understand your frustration of unexpectedly pivoting to virtual instruction this week due to the emergency water leak on campus. Your school's administration team is working diligently to have as many students, as safely possible, return back to school next week and resume face-to-face instruction. Based on the reports received today, and to ensure the safety of students and staff, the grade level and classroom specific return schedule is as follows:

Grades and Classrooms Returning to School for Face-to-Face Instruction on Monday, October 25, 2021:

  • Kindergarten (all classes)
  • Mr. Aiken’s 1st Grade Class
  • Ms. Mollay’s 2nd Grade Class
  • Ms. Tomlinson’s 2nd Grade Class
  • 3rd Grade (all classes)
  • 5th Grade (all classes)
  • 6th Grade (all classes)
  • 7th Grade (all classes)
  • 8th Grade (all classes)

Grades and Classrooms Returning to School on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 for Face-to-Face Instruction and Asynchronous Instruction on Monday, October 25, 2021:

  • Ms. Netter’s 1st Grade Class
  • Ms. Veal’s 1st Grade Class
  • Mrs. Truitt’s 1st Grade Class
  • Mr. Carter’s 2nd Grade Class
  • Mrs. Johnson’s 2nd Grade Class

Ms. Netter, Ms. Veal, Mrs. Truitt, Mr. Carter, and Mrs. Johnson will inform students of their asynchronous assignments via OTUS and/or Class Dojo. Additionally, these teachers’ classrooms have been temporarily reassigned to a different location on campus while their permanent classrooms are under repair for approximately two weeks. Families with students whose classrooms have been temporarily reassigned due to repairs may opt into the short-term virtual instruction option by formally submitting a request via email to Assistant Principal Avery

Full Virtual Instruction:

  • All 4th Grade Classes

All 4th grade students will continue to receive virtual instruction for approximately two additional weeks until all repairs are complete.

Our goal is to minimize the number of disruptions as much as possible while realizing limited space on campus.

Red Ribbon Spirit Week is continued as planned next week for both face-to-face and virtual students. Fall Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM) clusters have been postponed until October 27, 2021.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for your continued flexibility, understanding, and patience at this time.

Sincerely,

Ishmael Abdul-Salaam
