Last February, Coach Monti and Coach Roberts' 6th and 7th grade students celebrated Black History Month by honoring African American athletes who broke racial barriers. They paved the way for other African American athletes so they could participate in sports without discrimination. Students learned about several athletes and their accolades by interacting with the Google Slide Presentation. After answering questions about the athletes, the students featured their favorite athlete on the cover of Sports Illustrated and Time Magazine, as well as Wheaties cereal box.
