TMSA's Z. Johnson Strengthens Leadership Skills at Junior National Young Leaders Conference

The Main Street Academy (TMSA) is proud to recognize eighth-grade student Z. Johnson for participating in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) this past summer. The nationally recognized program brings together students from across the country to develop leadership skills through interactive experiences, collaboration, and visits to historic sites.johnson 1

During the conference, Z. Johnson explored some of the nation’s most significant historical landmarks, built new friendships with fellow student leaders, and participated in a variety of engaging leadership activities. Her favorite experience was participating in the conference’s debate sessions, where students were challenged to think critically, communicate effectively, and consider multiple perspectives.

Reflecting on the experience, Z. Johnson shared, “As a leader you have to be able to see from others’ perspectives whether you agree or disagree.”

The conference provided students with valuable opportunities to strengthen their leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills while learning alongside peers from diverse backgrounds.

We are incredibly proud of Z. Johnson for representing TMSA and embracing opportunities to grow as a leader. Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment! We look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make during her eighth-grade year and beyond.
