The Main Street Academy (TMSA) has concluded its National School Breakfast Week 'Breakfast Battle', an initiative designed to encourage students to start their day with a healthy meal. The friendly competition highlighted the importance of breakfast in fueling the brain, powering the body, and preparing students for a successful day of learning.
Throughout the week, K–8 classrooms competed for the title of 'Breakfast Champions.' The class with the highest percentage of breakfast participation was deemed the champion. After a close competition, Ms. R. Hicks’ class earned the top spot with the highest breakfast participation. In recognition of their outstanding effort, the class will enjoy a special cookie party hosted by the School Nutrition team.
An honorable mention goes to Ms. Douglas’ class and Ms. Jones’ class, which also showed strong breakfast participation during the competition.
TMSA celebrates this exciting achievement as a great way to kick off National Nutrition Month, a time dedicated to promoting healthy eating habits and wellness. With the strong momentum from this competition, the School Nutrition team looks forward to continuing to promote healthy habits that help Main Street Academy students start their day strong.
