8th Grade Scholars Share the Joy of Reading During Read Across America Week

During Read Across America Week and The Main Street Academy's (TMSA) Read-a-thon, 8th grade Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl scholars spent time with 3rd grade elementary scholars during WIN (What I Need) Time for a special reading experience. 8th grade students read to their younger peers, helping to foster a love of books while celebrating the importance of literacy.

In celebration of the week, scholars across campus also enjoyed participating in themed dress days connected to Read Across America, showing their creativity as well as enthusiasm for reading and literacy.

This cross-grade opportunity allowed the 8th grade scholars to serve as reading role models while encouraging the 3rd graders to build confidence and excitement around reading. By sharing stories and spending time together, scholars strengthened connections across grade levels and reinforced the joy of learning through books.
