Black History Month 2026 Recap

Students and staff at The Main Street Academy( TMSA) came together throughout February to celebrate and honor Black History Month through engaging classroom lessons, discussions, and activities.

Across the school, students explored the achievements and contributions of influential Black leaders, innovators, and changemakers who have shaped history and continue to inspire future generations. Through projects, programs and thoughtful conversations, students reflected on stories of courage, perseverance, creativity, and leadership. Thank you to the Black History Committee, leadership, educators and staff that coordinated these learning and celebratory experiences.

While February offers a special time to highlight these important contributions, the inspiration of Black history reaches far beyond a single month. The stories of those who broke barriers, created change, and lifted communities serve as powerful reminders that each generation has the ability to shape a brighter future.

At The Main Street Academy, these moments of learning help encourage students to dream big, lead with purpose, and recognize the impact they can make in their own communities.
