Fifth grade scholars at The Main Street Academy (TMSA) participated in a hands-on learning experience connecting mathematics with technology and creative design. As part of their classroom instruction, 5th grade students explored the concept of symmetry by developing original designs and transforming them into three-dimensional objects.
The project moved through several stages:
- Design on paper
- Using Tinkercad software to make a 3D model
- Printing using a Dremel DigiLab 3D printer.
Experiences like this reflect TMSA’s instructional approach — pairing academic content with practical application so scholars actively engage with what they are learning. By integrating technology into core subjects, students strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills while building confidence in their ability to create and innovate.
