TMSA Launches 1st Semester Project-Based Learning Kickoff

The Main Street Academy (TMSA) kicked off its First Semester Project-Based Learning (PBL) units on Friday, October 24, 2025! Students and teachers across all grade levels launched into their projects with energy, creativity, and collaboration.

Kindergarten began with “From the Farm to the Table,” exploring farming and where our food comes from. Second grade dove into “Bartering,” learning about trade and economics through engaging, hands-on activities.

Fifth graders partnered with TMSA’s Agriculture Teacher, Ms. Baker, for “Rebuilding Hope Through History and Land (Farming),” a project examining how agriculture, innovation, and community growth have been connected throughout history. Sixth grade focused on “Being Good Stewards of Our Water at TMSA,” studying environmental responsibility and conservation while partnering with the Georgia Aquarium to make their experience even more memorable.

Seventh grade explored “Health and Fitness,” connecting wellness, science, and lifestyle choices, and kicked off their project with a visit from a local community farmer. Eighth grade’s “Our Future” encouraged students to reflect on their middle school journey, set personal and academic goals, and celebrate growth as they prepare to transition to high school in the spring.

The kickoff event was filled with creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm from both students and staff. We invite everyone to enjoy the photos capturing these special moments and look forward to celebrating the students’ final projects at the PBL Showcase on December 12, 2025!
