Mr. Sobukwe Selected as Sphere Summit Teacher Fellow

The Main Street Academy's (TMSA) 6th Grade Teacher Mr. Samora Sobukwe was selected to participate in the Sphere Summit as a Teacher Fellow. The Sphere Summit is a fully funded summer program for educators and administrators in grades 5–12, featuring presentations by leading policymakers, scholars, and academics on the most pressing public policy issues facing the nation.

In recognition of his continued engagement and contributions, Mr. Sobukwe was also invited to return as a Teacher Fellow for the Sphere Alumni Summit. As part of this fellowship, participants were asked to pitch a classroom project for the upcoming semester. Mr. Sobukwe proposed an economics-focused initiative for his 6th-grade class and was paired with a Sphere mentor to help bring the idea to life. Together, they are currently developing the project, which will be implemented during the 2025–2026 school year.

Congratulations Mr. Sobukwe, we are proud to have your excellence at TMSA!
