College Park Councilman Roderick Gay Visits TMSA Ahead of Playground Ribbon Cutting at Charles Phillips Park

The Main Street Academy (TMSA) welcomed City of College Park Ward IV Councilman Roderick Gay to campus today as he personally invited students to attend the upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly upgraded playground at Charles Phillips Park, taking place Saturday, October 11, 2025.

The playground renovation features brand-new, modern equipment and a special addition — a neurodivergent communication board designed to support children with a range of communication and developmental needs. This inclusive feature ensures the playground will be accessible and welcoming to children of all abilities.

Councilman Gay’s visit underscored the city’s commitment to creating inclusive spaces where every child can play, learn, and connect.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is part of the 9th Annual Citywide Festival, a free community celebration open to the public. The festival will include entertainment, food, and activities for all ages, along with the official unveiling of the upgraded park.
