The Main Street Academy (TMSA) and the Fulton County School System recognize the importance of vision health and its impact on student learning. This year, the District Health Services Team of School Nurses will conduct vision screenings using state-of-the-art, touch-free devices for 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade TMSA students.
The screening will take place at TMSA on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Parents are asked to make a special effort to have their child present on this date. Students who wear glasses should bring them to school for the screening.
If a possible vision concern is identified, parents will be notified by letter. Families who do not receive a letter can assume that their child has passed the vision screening.
Parents who do not wish for their child to participate may opt out by completing the attached Opt-Out Form and emailing it to [email protected] with the subject line “OPT OUT.” Parents choosing this option are also encouraged to discuss the decision with their child.
Please note: Families only need to return the Vision Screening Opt-Out Form if they do not wish for their child to participate.
If you have any questions, please contact the office, our school nurse, Ms. Vanessa Jackson, RN, or our Cluster School Nurse, Ms. Kim Wardlaw,RN.
