The first day of school at The Main Street Academy (TMSA) is fast approaching on Monday, August 4, and we want to ensure that all families are prepared for a smooth and safe drop off and dismissal process. Please review the following important information regarding carline procedures and dismissal times.
School Hours
- School Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Early dismissal ends at 2:00 p.m., no exceptions.
Students must arrive at school by 7:45 a.m. daily. School starts at 7:45 a.m. (due to traffic, plan accordingly and arrive early).
Morning carline drop-off begins at 7:15 a.m. in front of the school. Students dropped off before 7:15 a.m. must be enrolled in the Extended Care Program (before school).
Morning Drop-Off
Kindergarten Students:
- On the first and second day of school, Kindergarten students will be dropped off at the gym entrance. Parents may park at the gym entrance (green zone).
- Kindergarten parents/guardians are allowed to come inside and escort their students to class on the first day of school, Monday, August 4th.
- On the second day of school, Tuesday, August 5th, kindergarten parents/guardians may drop off their scholars at the gym entrance (green zone), but may not escort them past the entrance doors
- On the third day of school, Wednesday, August 6th, and all remaining days of school for the year, kindergarten parents/guardians must drop off their scholars in the carline at the main front entrance (orange or yellow zones). Staff will be positioned throughout the school and at the front drop off to ensure kindergarteners arrive safely in their classrooms
1st - 8th grade Students:
1st - 8th grade parents/guardians will not be able to escort scholars to their classrooms. Students will be dropped off in the carline at the main front entrance (orange or yellow zones).
Afternoon Dismissals
Kindergarten Dismissal:
- During the first week of school (August 4–8), Kindergarten students will be dismissed early at 2:00 p.m. from the gym entrance (Green Zone).
- Beginning the second week of school (starting August 11), Kindergarteners will follow the regular dismissal schedule at 3:00 p.m., along with all other students.
- If a Kindergarten student has a sibling or family member in another grade level, the family may choose to pick up all siblings together at 3:00 p.m.
Kindergarten Carline Instructions:

Enter carline no earlier than 1:45 pm for the early 2:00 p.m. dismissal first week of school ONLY.

Kindergarten is dismissed from the GREEN Zone around the back of the school.

The App can only be used entering school grounds and no earlier than 1:30 p.m. first week of school and 2:30 p.m. thereafter.

Kindergarten students with siblings/carpool will be dismissed at NORMAL time.

1st -8th Grade Dismissal:
- All students in grades 1–8 will be dismissed daily at 3:00 p.m.
1st - 8th Grade Families & Siblings/Carpool Carline Instructions:
- Enter carline no earlier than 2:30 p.m.
- Please note assigned dismissal zones for your child (ren).
- App can only be used entering school grounds and no earlier than 2:30 p.m.
- When in the app, please select Pickup > Carline Check-in (NOT Early Pick-up or Parent Pickup) > Select Student(s) > Continue

Please note:
- Traffic will be heavier and more hectic than normal during the first two weeks of school as students and parents are getting acclimated to the arrival and dismissal routine. There are also more cars during the first few weeks of school, as after-school activities have not yet begun. Please be patient and courteous to other parents and staff. We all have the same goal in mind, which is to get families in and out safely and swiftly.
- Parking on the side of Lakeshore Drive is strictly prohibited. Please do not park on the side lanes of the street and attempt to walk to or from the campus. Students will not be dismissed to parents/guardians on foot. Students who are walkers or use public transportation are pre-identified and are notified of pick-up and drop-off procedures.
- Scholars not picked up by 3:45 p.m. will automatically be entered into the Extended Care Program (after school), and parents/guardians will be required to pay applicable fees.
SchoolPass App Required for All Families
TMSA's automated afternoon carline dismissal process - SchoolPass. All TMSA families/transportation providers are must download the SchoolPass app by the first day of school. Read the SchoolPass Letter to TMSA parents/guardians to obtain instructions on how to download the SchoolPass app, and to obtain additional important information.
Important SchoolPass Details and Reminders:
- Download the SchoolPass app before the first day of school
- Add all authorized drivers to BOTH the SchoolPass app and Infinite Campus
- Siblings will be linked before the first day of school
- Returning families may need to update the app and/or delete and reinstall.
- All families need to have their location on because the app is geo-fenced.
- If you're unable to register your child(ren) on the SchoolPass app, please give their name(s) to a TMSA staff member patrolling the carline or email [email protected] to report issues.
- For early afternoon dismissal, parents/guardians must change the dismissal plan for the day within the SchoolPass app before 12:00 noon. Early dismissal ends at 2:00 p.m. daily.
