This week, The Main Street Academy (TMSA) is proudly joining communities across the country to celebrate National Charter Schools Week, observed from May 11–17. The annual celebration highlights the achievements and contributions of charter schools nationwide, recognizing the educators, students, families, and advocates who are helping to reimagine public education.
National Charter Schools Week 2025 also commemorates a significant milestone: the 30th anniversary of the first awards issued through the federal Charter Schools Program (CSP). This bipartisan initiative is the only federal funding stream specifically designed to support the creation of new charter schools and the growth of high-performing ones.
Supporting charter schools is essential because they offer families more public education choices, promote innovation in teaching and learning, and often serve as incubators for best practices that can benefit the broader education system. Charter schools like TMSA play a vital role in closing achievement gaps, expanding opportunities, and preparing students for lifelong success.
Community members can support The Main Street Academy in its mission by volunteering their time, participating in TMSA events, or making a contribution to the Annual Innovation Fund. These efforts directly enhance student experiences and help drive continued innovation in academics, enrichment, and student support services.
