Think First & Stay Safe Program

Greetings Parents and Guardians,

At The Main Street Academy, our top priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. As part of this commitment, elementary students in Fulton County Schools will receive annual lessons designed to increase their personal safety and awareness through the Think First & Stay Safe program. The lessons will be taught to grades K-5 from March 31st - April 4th during their specials time

The Think First & Stay Safe™ program is a research-based initiative that teaches personal safety through interactive classroom lessons, posters, role-playing, and activities. This program empowers students to actively protect themselves from harassment, abduction, bullying, exploitation, and various forms of abuse (physical, sexual, and emotional). The Health Advisory Committee has reviewed and approved this program, selecting key components for implementation in the elementary curriculum.

Given the importance and sensitivity of this topic, we want to inform you that these lessons will be presented to your child’s class during the week of March 31 – April 4, 2025. If you have any questions, please contact our School Counselor, Mrs. Smallwood, at 404-768-0081 Ext. 108 or [email protected]. Program materials are also available for preview upon request.

The Think First & Stay Safe™ lessons will be implemented for all Fulton County Schools’ K-5 students unless an opt-out form is submitted. For more details on the lesson plans and research behind this program, please visit www.childluresprevention.com. Please note that the website contains additional information beyond what is used in Fulton County Schools.

If you do not want your child to participate, please return the attached opt-out form or send an email by March 28, 2025. Without written opt-out documentation, your child will automatically participate in the program.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter,
