Important Second Week of School Reminders

August 17, 2023

Greetings TMSA Parents and Guardians,

What joy to welcome over 800 students back to school! There is great satisfaction in seeing our students and teachers forge meaningful relationships as we start the new school year.

As we conclude the second week of school, please be mindful of the following important school reminders to ensure a successful 2023 – 2024 academic school year:

  • Students are expected to report to school dressed in complete uniform no later than 7:45 a.m. daily. School attendance has a direct impact on academic achievement. In order to make the most of educational opportunities, students must have consistent, punctual daily attendance.
  • Afternoon early dismissal ends promptly at 2:15 p.m. Please minimize early dismissals as it’s very important for students to take advantage of the full educational day without interruptions.
  • Afternoon dismissal/carline ends at 3:45 p.m. Parents/guardians who arrive for pick-up after 3:45 p.m. will be charged the After School Program's drop-in fee of $25 for the day. This fee also pertains to parents and guardians of van riders should transportation vans arrive late, after 3:45 p.m.
  • TMSA is a uniform-mandated charter school and students must report to school in their complete uniform daily.
  • Students are only permitted to carry clear or mesh backpacks or book bags to school. If you’re unable to obtain a clear backpack, email [email protected] to request a complimentary clear backpack.
  • Birthday classroom parties are not allowed on campus. Parents/guardians must make arrangements outside of school for birthday celebrations. At the end of each month, the school will host incentive celebrations to support positive behavior and school culture.

Please review and acknowledge TMSA’s 2023 – 2024 Student and Family Handbook which provides additional details regarding the aforementioned reminders and several more important school policies.

Also, don’t forget to take advantage of the Principal’s Parcel to share your suggestions and concerns with me.
