The Main Street Academy (TMSA) welcomes our new School Counselor, Marchketa Smallwood!

Mrs. Smallwood received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Shorter University. Additionally, Mrs. Smallwood received her Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Reading from Ashford University, as well as a master’s degree from The University of West Alabama in School Counseling.

Mrs. Smallwood’s role as the School Counselor at The Main Street Academy is based on the American School Counseling Association Model and Fulton County Schools’ standards. A variety of counseling services for all TMSA students will be available. The services are designed to assist with interests and issues related to the stages of student growth in the areas of academic, career, personal, emotional, and social development.

As TMSA’s School Counselor, Mrs. Smallwood’s goals are to help address students’ emotional, social, and academic development. She plans to be an advisor, advocate, agent, believer, and collaborator for all TMSA students.

Mrs. Smallwood’s personal interests are spending time with her family and dogs (all three dogs), as well as enjoying her love of crafting.
