Introducing TMSA's Summer Takeoff Academy

May 16, 2022

The TMSA Summer Takeoff Academy (summer learning academy) will be held in-person and on-campus beginning Monday, June 6, 2022 through Friday, June 24, 2022. The time of instruction is 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. daily. Breakfast and lunch will be served daily.

Priority for this program will be given to scholars in grades 3 - 8 who did not score at grade level in ELA and/or math on the final iReady benchmark assessment, as well as to scholars in grades 3, 5 and 8 who did not score at grade level in ELA and/or math on the Georgia Milestones Assessment (GMAS). Since the guidelines from the Fulton County Schools district changed, we are only able to offer summer school to students that are currently in
grades 3-8.

In addition, we will be providing support to EIP students, special education, and potential TAG students for intervention and enrichment. Students who are currently in grade 8 will also be able to attend for recovery of a failing, missing, or incomplete grade in the core content areas.  Upon receipt of notification, parents will have the option to opt-in or to opt-out of the summer learning academy.  Please note that GMAS recommendations can only be sent out once we have received the scores from the state.  Once the recommendations have been sent out, if there are remaining spaces, enrollment will be opened to other students in grades 3-8.

We hope your scholar will take advantage of this great opportunity.

Thank You,

Mr. Abdul-Salaam
