Greetings TMSA Parents and Guardians,
We are off to an exciting start to the second semester of the 2021 – 2022 school year as our entire student body is receiving face-to-face instruction on campus! This week we celebrated our 100th day of school and the initiation of second semester SEM (Schoolwide Enrichment Model) clusters.
As we enter the second month of our new semester, we would like to take the opportunity to revisit school expectations in the following areas:
- School Uniforms: TMSA is a uniform-centered charter school. Scholars must come to school in their appropriate uniform daily unless otherwise notified. Please access TMSA’s 2021 – 2022 Student and Parent Handbook that outlines our school’s uniform policy. Visit tmsa.org for a listing of TMSA approved uniform vendors. Also, complimentary, gently used TMSA uniforms are available for TMSA families to obtain from the Parent Resource Center. Contact TMSA’s Parent Liaison, Jamil Pearson, if you are interested in the complimentary uniform service.
- School Tardiness: TMSA students should arrive at school no later than 7:45 a.m. daily. If students arrive at school after 7:45 a.m. they are considered tardy, and parents/guardians must escort students inside the school and sign them in.
- Early Dismissal: The latest TMSA students may be checked out early from school is 2:15 p.m., prior to the start of afternoon dismissal. Please note, frequently checking out students early negatively impacts their academic instruction. Teachers are instructing students until the onset of afternoon dismissal which begins daily at 3:15 p.m. Additionally, early dismissal interrupts small group learning, as well as iReady and IXL learning practice sessions.
Virtual Saturday School is now open for scholars in grades 1 – 8. Space is limited to newly participating students and registration is required. Click here to register. Students registered after January 28, 2022 will begin Saturday School next Saturday, February 5, 2022.

Next, please note the following important school programming:
- Fulton County Schools is sponsoring vision screening for TMSA’s first, second and fifth graders on campus next Thursday, February 3, 2022. Stay posted for additional details.
- Principal Abdul-Salaam is hosting the virtual State of the School Address next Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. Please stay posted to receive the logistical details.
- 5-week progress reports will be available to access via Infinite Campus on February 11, 2022.
Finally, and most excitingly, TMSA administrators and leadership, with parental feedback, are developing NEW afternoon carline procedures. We appreciate your patience the new plan will be revealed next month.
