TMSA Extends Remote Learning

January 7, 2022

Dear TMSA Parents and Guardians,

Please be advised that The Main Street Academy will remain in remote learning status next week, January 10 – 14, 2022.  All students (K – 8) will return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, the day after the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. As a Fulton County Schools (FCS) district charter school, TMSA has the autonomy to structure its learning model the same as or more restrictive than FCS. As a result, TMSA’s Health and Safety Committee has made the tough, yet health-conscious, decision to extend virtual learning by one week based on the recent surge in COVID-19 cases reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health and an increase of positive COVID-19 cases amongst TMSA staff and students.

We realize the decision to extend virtual learning by one week creates hardships for some families.  If there are ways that we can support your family, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.  We are hopeful that the additional week of students receiving virtual instruction will heighten the ability for our community to return to campus on Tuesday, January 18th, healthy, safe, and in a position for us to sustain in-person learning for the long term.

Please review the following reminders:
