PSAT for 8th Graders Rescheduled to Dec. 8th

The PSAT 8/9 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 8th during the school day.  All 8th-grade students who have registered need to attend the pre-administration session on December 7th at 11:20 a.m. and then be present at 8:00 a.m. on December 8th for the test itself. The test will be held in Ms. Stepp’s classroom located on the 8th-grade hall. The test should be completed by 12:00 p.m. for most students.  Virtual students may attend in-person for those entire school days or be picked up after.

As a reminder, the PSAT 8/9 is never reported to colleges and used as a formative assessment to help students identify strengths and provide strategies to develop areas of growth.

Preparing for the test:

  • DO bring your laptop and charger to school both Dec. 7th, Dec. 8th
  • DO get a good night’s sleep Tuesday before the administration of the PSAT (8 -10 hours is recommended for teenagers)
  • DO eat a nutritious dinner the night before and breakfast the day of the test (with protein)
  • DO take time to rest and do something calming the night before (e.g. yoga, workout, play piano, watch a happy show, draw)
  • DON’T bring your cellphone if you don’t need it
  • DO turn your cellphone on silent and airplane mode
  • DO your best and remember to breathe!  You’ll do great!
Please contact Ms. Letzler if you have any questions pertaining to the PSAT.
