Melba Smith- 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Mrs. Melba Smith, Ed.S is an educator with over 21 years of experience, dedicated to fostering a stimulating learning atmosphere that promotes student academic success at the highest level. She joins the TMSA team with great excitement and enthusiasm.

Mrs. Smith is an accomplished educator with a passion for instilling knowledge and fostering curiosity in young minds. She has taught grades 2nd through 8th grades. With over 21 years of teaching experience and an educational specialist degree in leadership, she brings a wealth of knowledge to The Main Street Academy. Mrs. Smith attended The State University of West Georgia and received a degree in Middle Grades Education. She is currently certified in: Language Arts, Social Science, and Mathematics, as well as holds endorsements in ESOL and Reading.

As a 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher, she is eager to embark upon her new journey with the 7th Grade TMSA scholars and make a meaningful impact in her students' lives. Mrs. Smith is determined to make her classroom a place where students can explore the richness of history, develop critical thinking skills, and continue to cultivate a lifelong love for learning.

Beyond her commitment to education, Mrs. Smith's heart is enriched by her role as a wife and mother to four wonderful children. She is a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
