Teacher Biography

Karelle Williams 
 
Mrs. Williams has been teaching at TMSA since 2012. She taught 5th grade during her first year, and 3rd grade until 2022. Mrs. Williams' love for science and STEM/STEAM, led her to pursue her STEM Endorsement during the 2021/2022 school year, and she has now transitioned into a STEAM & CTAE teaching role. She serves students from grades K-5 as a STEAM teacher, and 6-8 as a CTAE teacher in TMSA's new Innovation Center. Mrs. Williams also serves in a support role for TMSA's teachers as the STEAM Integration Coordinator.
 
She holds a B.S. from Georgia State University, and a M.S.Ed. from Walden University. She is also STEM, ESOL, Science, and Gifted endorsed.
 
Mrs. Williams loves all things science! She has presented at the NSTA's (National Science Teachers Association) annual conference, and she has served as TMSA's Elementary Science Olympiad coach for the past 6 years. Mrs. Williams leads the TMSA STEAM Team which is a group of science educators who collaborate to plan engaging hands-on STEM Day activities for TMSA's scholars, and work to improve science instruction and STEM engagement throughout the school. She is also a co-adviser for the school's National Elementary/Junior Honor Society. 
 
Mrs. Williams was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, and she has lived in Atlanta for the past 25 years. She loves to travel in her free time, and she also enjoys arts & crafts.
