Biography

Jonathan Lackey, Sr. was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. He started playing music at an early age and comes from a large family of musicians and educators. Mr. Lackey is a product of Benjamin E. Mays High School in the Atlanta Public Schools system and he graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a B.A. in Instrumental Music. Mr. Lackey plays a large variety of instruments professionally and specializes in performing with wind instruments. He has taught music lessons around the city for many years and is in his eleventh year of teaching in schools. He has also performed and recorded with many artists and has traveled around the world performing music. Mr. Lackey has been married to his wife for 21 years and has two children together. He enjoys spending time with his family, grilling, baking, games, and watching cartoons/anime. He is also a member of GMEA, the Georgia Music Educators Association. Mr. Lackey is always ready to work with helping students develop their skills and reach their goals.
