Sandra Carter-Ward

Sandra Carter-Ward serves as an 8th Grade Literacy Instructor at The Main Street Academy (TMSA). She is a native of the Black Belt Region in Alabama. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education; a Bachelor’s of Arts in English and Communication (Stillman College and University of Alabama); a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership (Troy State University); and Certification Endorsement in the area of Reading (Metro  RESA). 

Sandra Carter-Ward has spent over twenty years in various capacities in the World of Education.  She has worked as a classroom teacher, Title 1 Reading and Math Teacher, Reading Specialist/Coach, Grade Level Chair, Training Manager, Coordinator, Instructional Facilitator, District Reading Coach, Mentor, etc. She has an extraordinary educational background and possess administrative experience. She has hands-on teaching experience that has afforded her tenure in several states (Alabama, Georgia & Texas).

Sandra Carter-Ward believes that students' success is created through meaningful relationships.  Her classroom learning environment promotes fun, growth, and a sense of family. Sandra Carter-Ward is privileged to have the opportunity to work with the students, parents, staff, and community at TMSA as she focus on students’ success.
