The Main Street Academy's Mission

At Main Street Academy, all students will receive a challenging and enriching education from a dedicated and student-focused staff in partnership with highly-involved parents. Students will leave The Main Street Academy with high expectations of themselves as they prepare for further education and become contributing members of their diverse communities.

Universal Remote Learning

The Main Street Academy will adhere to Universal Remote Learning (virtual instruction) for the first quarter (August 11 - October 9, 2020) of the 2020 - 2021 academic school year. TMSA's Governing Board will vote at a later date if the school will adhere to Virtual Remote Learning or in-person classroom instruction second quarter.

Full OTUS Virtual Access for TMSA Students Beginning August 24, 2020 (3rd Week of School)

Beginning Monday, August 24, 2020 (the third week of school) all TMSA students must access their virtual classes via OTUS only, not Microsoft Teams. If you need to obtain your OTUS class link, please email your TMSA teacher directly to obtain the link(s). Please refer to Infinite Campus or TMSA's most recent Master Class Schedule  to obtain the class schedules for TMSA students.

Back to School  Briefings 2.0 with Principal Parker

Currently recordings from the Back to School 2.0 Briefings that Principal Parker hosted on Thursday, July 30 and Saturday, August 1 are not available. However, please access and review the PowerPoint presentation presented during the briefings to gain important back to school details based upon Universal Remote Learning.

"Live" Virtual Hotline

Beginning Wednesday, August 19, 2020, The Main Street Academy's parents, guardians and students may take advantage of the school's new Virtual Hotline. TMSA parents, guardians and students will receive live assistance from TMSA staff via the Virtual Hotline to resolve technical issues pertaining but not limited to school issued chromebooks, Microsoft Teams and Otus. 2020 - 2021 Device User Agreement

TMSA parents/guardians and students are required to complete and turn-in the 2020 - 2021 Device User Agreement upon obtaining students' curriculum packets from TMSA on Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7 from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM on both days.

Important Note: Kindergarteners will not receive their individual chromebook until late August or early September. However, TMSA kindergarten households are still required to pick-up curriculum on the scheduled dates to obtain textbooks and manipulatives to successfully start the first day of school virtually.

2019 - 2020 Academic School Year Textbook Returns

If your child is currently in possession of TMSA issued books and textbooks from the 2019 - 2020 academic school year, please bring them back to TMSA when you pick up his/her  curriculum packet on August 6th or 7th. TMSA is missing a significant number of textbooks from last year's fourth graders.

The following school supplies are recommended for each student to support successful Universal Remote Learning:

  • A quiet, designated workspace for learning

Uniforms

TMSA students in grades K-8 are not required to wear the school uniform during Universal Remote Learning. However, students are required to attend each virtual instructional class fully dressed with appropriate attire (no pajamas, no t-shirts, etc.).  Note: When in-person, classroom instruction resumes at TMSA, all students will be required to come to school in full uniform. There will not be a grace period as parents/guardians will receive communication in advance.

School Lunch

During Universal Remote Learning, TMSA will provide virtual students with nutritious breakfast and lunch meals that will be available for parents/guardians to pick up from the school's front office every Monday (food supply for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and Thursday (food supply for Fridays and Mondays) from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM. Two weekly pick-up days are available to ensure students receive breakfast and lunch over the course of five instructional weekdays (Monday - Friday). All TMSA households are required to electronically complete and submit the annual 2020 - 2021 Lunch Application .Be sure to type "The Main Street Academy" in the mandatory district field. Parent/guardian notification of eligibility letters will be mailed shortly after the submission deadline. If you have any questions or require assistance with your applications, email  TMSA's Lunch Coordinator, Robyn McCoy.

 

Also, all TMSA households should complete and submit the 2020 Back-to-School Meals Survey on or by Friday, August 7, 2020. The purpose of the survey is to help school staff determine the number of meals (both breakfast and lunch) TMSA will need to prepare for virtual students the first week of school - Tuesday, August 11 - 14, 2020.

Class Schedules

TMSA's class schedules for grades K - 8 are only accessible to obtain via Infinite Campus. The schedules should be available to access via Infinite Campus no later than Tuesday, August 4, 2020 (if not, keep checking Infinite Campus periodically).

TMSA's Specials, such as art, Spanish and music, will continue during Universal Remote Learning. However, specialized music classes, such as chorus, guitar and piano, will be available when non-virtual instruction resumes. Current TMSA students enrolled in band will have class during the small group schedule. Band enrollment currently isn't available for new students. 
 
The Main Street Academy's 1Q20 Master Class Schedule for grades K - 7 , as as of August 10, 2020, is now available.

Admissions and Withdrawals

Prospective TMSA parents/guardians should access SchoolMint, TMSA's online application portal, to check the status of your enrollment application for the 2020 - 2021 academic school year. 

 

Existing TMSA parents/guardians who are withdrawing their students from TMSA for the 2020 - 2021 academic school year, please complete and submit the FCS TMSA Withdrawal Request Form.
